Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) 는 과산화물 (Free radical을 포함한 다양한 세포의 신진 대사에서 생성되는 ROS)의 산소 및 과산화수소로의 변위를 촉매하는 중요한 항산화 효소이며, Antioxidant capacity를 측정하는 지표로 사용되어왔습니다. XO / NBT는 SOD 분석에 널리 사용되었지만 이 방법들은 반응의 결과 생성되는 Formazan dye의 Water solubility가 낮고 Xanthine Oxidase의 환원형과도 반응하는 단점을 가지고 있습니다. OxiTec™ SOD Assay Kit는 이러한 문제를 보완하기 위해 WST (Water Soluble Tetrazolium Salt)를 사용하여 보다 안정적이고 정확한 SOD 활성을 측정할 수 있습니다.

결과분석

SOD Activity (Unit)

- Sample의 50 % Inhibition rate (IC50)가 나올 때까지 희석하여 희석배율을 구합니다.

- 1 Unit = WST-1의 환원 반응을 50 % 저해하는(IC50) 20 ㎕의 Sample 내에 함유된 SOD의 농도
